Being effective and being likeable aren't the same thing — and for a while, I chose effective. I hit the numbers. I made the money. But I didn't like who I was becoming, and neither did the people around me.
This is about breaking that cycle before it gets passed down to the people you lead — so they can show up as better partners, better leaders, and better humans at home too.
