We started a foreman training program, and one of our best welders told me straight up he didn't want to do "all this stupid paperwork." Then he asked the real question — if he skips it, does he get fired?

The answer surprised both of us. This program is the minimum expectation, not a punishment. If you can't commit to it, that's a choice — but it's not the end of the world either.

Some of the biggest lessons come from the moments that feel the worst at the time. Keep that learner's mindset — there's always a gem in there, even when it stinks.
