The Power and Responsibility of Cosigning

Lets talk about the importance of 'cosigning', or supporting and encouraging, individuals who positively impact their communities. My barber, Isaiah demonstrated exemplary patience and leadership in mentoring a young barber and I knew immediately that I am committed to supporting him.  We all have influence and can 'cosign' people by expressing and showing support for their actions, ultimately endorsing their impact in our communities. So find some folks to  support and believe in.

Speaker 1:

Who are you co-signing? When I say co-signing, I'm not talking about signing up for the car note of your kid or your cousin or your significant other. I'm talking about the people out there in the community that you believe in, the people that you connect with, the people that inspire you. And there's some responsibility that comes with this idea, because people trust you. You have influence. You may not be aware of it, but I pinky promise you do. People look to you and take note of who you support, whose posts you comment on, the type of subject matter that you share. And the reason this comes to mind is because my barber, mr Isaiah, is one of those people that I support and co-sign. I want to see that young man continue to contribute and grow his business and his influence within the San Antonio community and beyond. And I'm going to tell you why. The very first time I went to get a haircut at the exclusive way, there was a young barber working on my do and he got a little bit off track and he voiced it to Isaiah, who's the owner operator of the business, and Isaiah took the time to walk him through. He didn't chastise him, he didn't get irritated. It was clear to me that a mistake had been made, but Isaiah was patient, he was thorough, he was direct and professional, and the leadership that he demonstrated through that haircut helped me know, without a doubt, that I am co-signing him. So one I want to say if you're in the deuce dime, the 210 San Antonio area, you got to go check out the exclusive way and hook up with my buddy, isaiah, and hook up with the boys there at the exclusive way. And the question is who are you co-signing? Who are the people out there that you know? You just feel in your bones that they're going to have a big impact and they're the type of people that we need more of. And what are you doing to indicate that you are co-signing them? Be cool and we'll talk at you next time. Peace.
